Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician (DOTT) is a two - three years diploma course in India. The study is a fundamental part of the operation unit working with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses to ensure every single procedure of safety and successful outcome of surgical process. The study trained candidates to look after all the surgical instruments,arrangement of operation theatre table, dressing table, instrument table, anesthesia table and also how to manage staff. They also look after the drugs required for surgery, anesthetic gases, drapes & all the linen & their sterilization. The study trained candidates to assist the surgeon during the operations. The operation theatre technician has to manage & organize whole operation theatre.
